If you’ve ever tried to find a local volunteer opportunity and thought, “Why is this so hard?”—you’re definitely not alone!
That’s exactly what led me to start LIVolunteers.org
This platform was created because I’ve seen how scattered and frustrating it can be for people who genuinely want to help but don’t know where to look (...or start, for that matter). Most Long Island Volunteer opportunities are either buried in social media posts, hidden on separate websites, or not posted online at all. And as a result, it’s often the BIGGER organizations that get all the support—while smaller, equally important ones go unnoticed.
We can do better than that. And that’s what this site is here for.
A Place to Bring Everyone Together (Local Long Island Volunteer opportunities)
LIVolunteers.org is a centralized space where:
Individuals can easily find local projects and events to get involved in
Individuals can share with other Long Islanders about the projects they are passionate about
Organizations— big and small— can post their volunteer needs, for free
Everyone benefits from a simpler, more connected way to give back
Whether you’re running a local food pantry, organizing a beach cleanup, or offering mentorship to teens—your work matters, and it deserves to be seen.
And if you’re someone who wants to help but doesn’t know where to start, now there’s one place to search, explore, and get involved—without having to dig through a dozen websites or hope the algorithm shows you something relevant.
Let’s Make It Easier to Do Good
Right now, what we need most is help getting more local long island volunteering events and projects listed on the site. The more listings we have, the easier it becomes for volunteers to find causes they care about—and that helps everyone.
So if you’re part of an organization that could use support, or if you know of a project happening in your neighborhood—please please please share it with me! Local Long Island Volunteer opportunities are best, but everything counts!
