Event Description
WANTED: Secret Superheroes, Campfire Comedians, and Heart Holders
Camp Good Mourning! isn’t your average camp.
It’s where grieving kids go to remember their person…and rediscover themselves.
We’re building a Team Member Dream Team for Fall Camp (Oct 24th – 26th) — and we’re looking for humans who:
Can sit in silence without needing to fix anything
Know how to make a kid feel safe, seen, and silly
Don’t mind singing off-key or dancing like a goof
Want to change a child’s life — and be changed in return
Open Roles:
Big Buddies (Emotional Sherpas)
Support Group Leaders (Mental Health Professionals)
RNs (First Aid Fairies)
Logistics Legends (Operational Ninjas)
Photographer (Memory Catcher)
Videographer (Living Storyteller)
This project starts on Friday, October 24th at 1pm and goes through Sunday, October 26th at 5pm.
Open to Adults & Teens!
Training is provided.
Camp spirit is contagious.
And the impact? Unforgettable.
Ready to do the most meaningful thing you’ll do all year?

Introducing Camp Good Mourning! (CGM!), a Huntington, NY-based 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides FREE weekend grief camp programs for Long island children coping with the death of a parent or sibling.
Camp Good Mourning! takes place in a traditional camp setting with one extra special component – Grief Support Groups. Each support group focuses on a different theme including, but not limited to, sharing one’s grief story, identifying and exploring feelings, identifying healthy as well as unhealthy coping skills, and learning ways to stay connected to loved ones even though they are no longer physically with them. Just as important, we encourage campers to stay in touch with new camp friends in between camp to create their own “community of support.”
